Up & Over Doors

The most common type of garage door and the one available in the widest range of styles and sizes. The door protrudes from the frame when opening and is available with two gear options:

  • Canopy Gear – When opened the door forms a ‘canopy’ with roughly one third of the door outside the garage. Canopy door gear is suitable for single doors.
A canopy door has integral vertical tracks up which the door travels, with no horizontal tracks protruding into the garage space. Lifting movement is provided by a spring located along the top of the door which pulls on a spindle on both sides of the door via a drum pulley and cable arrangement.

  • Retractable Gear – A single or double Retractable door opens along horizontal tracks inside the garage and retracts almost completely into the garage when opened. Lifting movement is provided by springs located on both sides of the doors frame which pull on the lifting arms in a cantilever action. This provides an exceptionally smooth action which is ideal for remote controlled electric operation.

Sectional Doors

Doors consist of four or five sections that open vertically. The sections travel into the garage along overhead tracks, allowing side wall storage space to be accessed. The vertically opening door action does not kick-out, making sectional doors ideal for short driveways or where cars are parked close to the door in or out of the garage. This can be especially useful for high backed vehicles such as MPVs and 4x4s. These doors are available fully insulated and weather-stripped, a great benefit if the garage is integral to the house.

Sectional Garage Doors

Roller Doors

Doors open vertically and form a compact roll in the headroom above the door, allowing overhead and side wall storage space to be accessed. The vertically opening door action does not kick-out, or operate within the garage, making roller doors ideal for short driveways or where cars are parked close to the door in or out of the garage. Roller doors are available fully insulated and automated and are competitively priced.

Roller Garage Doors

Side Hinged Doors

Side hinged garage doors open outwards in the traditional manner. In single sizes only, the doors have no gear to intrude into the garage space, however they do require clearance immediately in front of the garage when opening.
